I wish to notify the Chapter that R. Branson Hobbs ’53 died on August 4, 2008 at home in Chapel Hill. The Service was at The Chapel of the Cross, where he was Baptized in 1931, and buried at The Old Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Of interest – The DKE house was rented to the Naval Officers during World War II and the Chapter met in the Hobbs home in Chapel Hill. In fact the boys got Branson (11 years old) out of bed and initiated him into the Chapter so if they all went to War, Branson could carry on the Beta Chapter.

I have recently taken over as Chairman and CEO of the Chowan County ABC Board. The pay is terrible but the product and surrounding would make any DKE underclassman swoon!
