Notable Alumni

There is a long list of famous DKEs, and that’s not surprising. Theodore Roosevelt, George H.W. Bush, Gerald Ford…the list goes on. 

Here at Beta, we have our very own celebrity alumni. After all, DKE is a place where we learned leadership and character, and that attracted men of character. 

Gaston Caperton, Politician
Gaston is an American politician who served as the 31st Governor of West Virginia from 1989 to 1997. He was president of the College Board, which administers the nationally recognized SAT and AP tests, from 1999 to 2012.

Billy Crudup, Actor
Billy is an American actor. He is a four-time Tony Award nominee, winning once for his performance in Tom Stoppard‘s play The Coast of Utopia in 2007. He has starred in numerous high-profile films, including Without Limits, Princess Mononoke, Almost Famous, Big Fish, Mission: Impossible III, Watchmen, Public Enemies, Spotlight, Jackie, The Stanford Prison Experiment, Justice League, and Alien: Covenant, in both lead and supporting roles. He has been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for his performance in Jesus’ Son, and received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations as part of an ensemble cast for Almost Famous and Spotlight, winning for the latter.

Gordon Gray, Politician
Gordon was an official in the government of the United States during the administrations of Harry Truman (1945–53) and Dwight Eisenhower (1953–61) associated with defense and national security.
