All alumni are invited to attend this year’s 11th Annual Si Sitterson Memorial Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, April 17, a the Occoneechee Golf Club in Hillsborough, N.C. The Dekes host this event each year to honor Si Sitterson — a brother, a leader and a man of integrity. Through the generous support of alumni, parents and friends, this event is our chapter’s largest and most important fundraiser of the year.
In 2009, DKE brothers banded together to raise funds and build a Habitat home to honor the legacy of our brother and former president, Courtland Benjamin Smith ’38. Courtland lived out the values that made the DKE house special. There was no better way to celebrate his life than by building a Habitat home and funding a playground where children can play.
Our tie with Habitat for Humanity continues. We have proudly contributed more than $195,000 and have volunteered 3,520 hours since 2009.
We are now spearheading the fourth annual partnership between fraternities and Habitat which we call The Brothers Project. Through a mix of philanthropy and service, seven fraternities are collaborating to build a home in Chapel Hill in partnership with two UNC employees and their three children.
This year, we have set a goal of raising $15,000. You can help!

Sponsorships (sponsor names will be displayed on the course): Bronze Level ($200-$249) – 2 tournament t-shirts and name on donor recognition banner; Silver Level ($250-$499) – Bronze Level and recognition as single-hole sponsor; Gold Level ($250-$999) – Silver Level and recognition as closest to the pin, longest drive and range sponsor; Diamond Level ($1,000-$1,999) – Silver Level and recognition as 18th hole sponsor; Platinum Level ($2,500+) – Hole-in-one sponsor.
