The Class of 2011 would like to invite current and former DKEs, families, and friends to celebrate our 10-Year Partnership with Habitat for Humanity on March 14th in Chapel Hill! DKE first established a partnership with Habitat in the Spring of 2010, which kicked off the construction of a house and recreation area at Phoenix Place, in memory of our pledge brother, Courtland Smith. Generous DKE donors contributed more than $125,000 that spring, and the brothers put in 1,500+ hours of hard work, to make the build a huge success!
Courtland’s legacy and the DKE-Habitat partnership continue to shine bright as the DKE house has supported Habitat in the years since through dozens of volunteer builds, an annual fundraising campaign, and advocacy in the UNC fraternity community. Please join us in Chapel Hill on March 14th as we celebrate 10 years, and counting, of this partnership! Schedule for the day is below
- 9:00-11:30 AM: Volunteer build event at Phoenix Place (100 Lizzie Lane, Chapel Hill, NC 27516)
- 11:30-12:00 PM: Ceremony to share Habitat memories by DKE alumni, friends, and family
- 12:00-2:00 PM: Lunch reception at DKE (132 S. Columbia Street)
