Have you ever wondered how Delta Kappa Epsilon first came to be? Did you know that it was the first fraternity established on the UNC campus? April 5 marked 165 years since the Beta Chapter’s founding, and we found some interesting information about how it all started.
How Would Your Life be Different if You Hadn’t Joined Delta Kappa Epsilon?
We recently asked each of you to reflect on how your life might be different if you hadn’t joined Delta Kappa Epsilon. William Bass ’49 said that if he hadn’t joined DKE, he wouldn’t have nearly as many stories to tell his grandsons, and in another few years, great grandsons.
2016 Si Sitterson Memorial Golf Tournament
We invite you to attend the eleventh annual Si Sitterson Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, April 1st at the Occoneechee Golf Club in Hillsborough. The Dekes host this event each year to honor Si, a brother, a leader and a man of integrity. Through the generous support of parents, alumni, and friends, this event is our largest and most important fundraiser.

We recently received 20 donations for a total of $5,674, which brings our total so far for the 2015-2016 giving year up to $20,294.64 from 94 donors! That is incredible news! Thank you so much to those who have contributed to this giving year.

More Than 50% of us Have Never Contributed!
Our annual fund for the 2015-2016 giving year began on September 1 and, so far, we have received 74 donations for a total of $14,620.64 toward our goal of $27,500 from 150 donors. We greatly appreciate all donations we have already received, however we are only about halfway to our goal with seven months left. Did you know that over 50% of all alumni have never made a donation back to Beta Chapter?
