Class of ’71 to Gather for Reunion in October

The class of ’71 will be having their 45th Reunion during Alumni Weekend from October 7-9, and a total of 19 of our 24 members are planning on attending. Twenty-two of the members went through as pledge brothers and two became Beta DKEs and joined the class the following year. The brothers are looking forward to being in Chapel Hill and at the DKE House for another weekend of good times and wonderful memories.

Brotherly Bonds Still Strong 50+ Years Later

Some of our brothers from the class of 1964 recently got together and took this great photo to capture the memory! Pictured are Gardiner Garrand ’64, Charles Shaffer ’64, and Frank Lankford ’64The photo was taken on  May 18 at Charlie Shaffer’s home in Atlanta. We’re proud of these brothers for keeping in touch over 50 years after leaving UNC.

Beech Watson ’71 Says He Wouldn’t Trade DKE Experience for Anything

Beech Watson ’71 is thankful for many aspects of his DKE experience, including the wonderful memories he made and the friends that were by his side during life’s biggest moments. Beech said that he would encourage his own son to join the fraternity because it gives brothers a good identity on campus and they are respected. “The fellowships you have will last a lifetime and your pledge brothers will be just that, brothers,” he said.
